John McCain Should Not Be The Republican Nominee

Okay John McCain is a War Hero. He is a legitimate War Hero, as he keeps reminding us.

Senator McCain we do thank you for service. The good people of Arizona have repeatedly reelected you to the U.S. Senate to show that appreciation. They even gave you a pass on your involvement as a member of the Keating 5 scandal.

But we do not owe you the Presidency out of respect for that sacrifice!

Should you be the Republican nominee, you can bet that the mainstream media will remind everyone about the Keating 5. That episode is probably one of the reasons the MSM is supporting you now—easy target later.

Sen. McCain, you have on many occasions shown yourself to be anything but a conservative.

You strongly supported amnesty for illegal aliens. You supported Social Security credits for illegal aliens. You recently denied that you had supported these measures, but that was a lie.

In 2001, you opposed the Bush tax cuts claiming that, "I cannot in good conscience support a tax cut in which so many of the benefits go to the most fortunate among us at the expense of middle-class Americans who need tax relief." You now claim that you opposed the tax cuts because they didn't include enough spending cuts. You were the only Republican other than Chafee that voted against those tax cuts. (Chafee at least had the decency to leave the party). You now claim to support them! That’s too little, too late!

Yes, you have supported the War of Terror, but you were not the only Republican that supported the SURGE. And you have been weak on the terrorists. You have supported open borders. You have supported criminal trials for terrorists. You want them to have full access to classified documents to use at trial.

And while you have generally voted pro-life, you have repeatedly assured the media that you “oppose reversing Roe v. Wade because it would force women to undergo illegal and dangerous operations."

You have been as ass on energy where you have opposed drilling in Alaska or anywhere else. You have supported legislation that would further support the false doctrine of man-made global warming.

You have supported embryonic stem-cell research.

You severely undermined our Constitutional rights with your free-speech-crushing,
campaign-finance laws.

You have done everything you can to undermine George W. Bush and everything conservative for the last 7 years and now you want to be what?The list goes on to include opposition to a marriage amendment to the Constitution, your condemnation of the “Swift Boat Veterans for Truth” which you called "dishonest and dishonorable." No one has been able to discredit a single one of their claims. And then you were a member of the Gang of 14.

Now lets see what was your claim to being a conservative?

Oh right! You supported the War!
